Ordered one of these gen 3 models for myself too (bigger battery version) as an update to an E series laptop so old that I've replaced some parts of it twice. Dual channel RAM is good to have, even if with 1 soldered on. Notebookcheck's review says the 14" E14 G3 AMD model is quiet. ThinkPads have the best keyboard out of these choices. Links below aren't correct for all of the laptops but I wrote the specs below the link. Also does bigger screen and higher resolution help with multitasking/multi window work? Is the text on the screen readable? Thinking also about the quality of these laptops. That's why I am considering ThinkPad and ThinkBook. I'm not sure how much does IdeaPad 5 Pro heat and make noise (when idle or studying/coding/watching videos) vs ThinkPad or ThinkBook. Beside studying and coding/programming I might play some lighter games such as CS:GO. I am looking laptop for computer science studies and I am considering of these: IdeaPad 5 Pro, ThinkPad E14/15 Gen 3 and ThinkBook 16p G2.
